Bobby is a graduate of Yale University where he majored in Theatre Studies (with a focus on directing) & Music Theory and Composition. Bobby spent the first ten plus years of his career directing tours and productions all over the country. He is on faculty at The Prep NJ where he teaches private voice, 1-on-1 coachings, pop/rock, audition prep, and master classes. He taught at the New York Film Academy Musical Theatre Conservatory in NYC where he specialized in pop/rock performance and history, audition technique, business of theatre/professional prep, and performance lab. For the past three summers Bobby has helmed the first Musical Theatre Summer Program at Harvard University. He also taught at CAP21, audition technique for students ranging from 10 to 45 as a guest artists at Broadway Dreams Foundation as well as being a guest artist at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Illinois. He taught at Stoneham Theatre in Massachusettes and ran the musical theatre education program at Northern Stage in Vermont where he was Associate Artistic Director.
As Bobby's composing/writing career took off, he gained an even greater understanding of song interpretation, having a keener sense of the role of the music in the storytelling of a song in addition to the lyric. Bobby has developed his teaching techniques at NYU/CAP21 and privately in New York City. His positive approach to the business and skills of musical theatre, her created the "Belief Is Key" Master Class which has become a highly sought after addition to schools across the world including The Royal Academy of London, Arts Educational Schools (President: Andrew Lloyd Webber), and plenty more.
